The Academy receives no regular government funding and therefore our friends and supporters play a vital role in ensuring the orchestra's continued existence. While box office and recording income cover the majority of our expenditure, we nevertheless need to raise funds each year to support our general running costs, our performances in the UK, and our education programme. There are a number of ways in which you can help us:
Friends of the Academy
American Friends of the Academy
Chair Sponsorship
By supporting an orchestral chair, individuals or companies are invited to become closely involved with the orchestra both in the UK and overseas, and are given the opportunity to invite players to perform at private events.
Concert Sponsorship
The Academy welcomes corporate sponsors and works together with them to design a programme of events both in the UK and abroad that will enhance the business objectives of both organisations. Individuals may also wish to sponsor concerts, perhaps to mark a significant anniversary or event.
Legacies
Individuals can make a lasting contribution to our future by leaving a legacy to the Academy.
Project Support
Each year the orchestra undertakes a number of projects designed to introduce new people to live classical music who we hope will become the audiences of the future. Valuable support is given by charitable trusts and foundations as well as individuals who make their payments under the Gift Aid scheme.
