Our brand-new Meet the Musicians series offers our supporters a chance to gain insights directly from the orchestra’s musicians.
Miranda Playfair has played with the Academy since leaving music college, when Sir Neville Marriner invited her to join his orchestra after hearing her at the Wigmore Hall.
We hope you can join us for a salon evening nestled in a corner of riverside Chiswick where Miranda and her pianist, Jan Rautio will play an assortment of pieces ranging from Mozart to Stravinsky. Actor and presenter Paul Ham will invite discussion and read some accompanying poetry. Exploring themes of Melancholy and Beauty, and how playing and listening to music nourish certain core human needs.
The evening will conclude with a drinks reception.
