Jan Lisiecki and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields bring a fresh approach to the music, pure joy in playing and the desire to make music together characterise orchestra and soloist alike. This was already evident in 2018, when Jan Lisiecki rescued a concert tour of the Academy and stood in for Murray Perahia, who was ill, with all five Beethoven concertos. The applause was magnificent and the album of the live recording was a huge success. The connection between the Canadian-Polish pianist and the traditional British ensemble has been a special one ever since. In January 2025, they will bring Beethoven’s concertos to concert halls once again.
Jan is joined by cellist Daniel Müller-Schott and ASMF director Tomo Keller for Beethoven Triple Concerto Op.56 in C major, and the will also perform works by Errollyn Wallen CBE, Anna Clyne and Ruth Gipps.
