A concert showcasing the virtuoso viola soloist Timothy Ridout, former BBC New Generation Artist and stellar soloist and chamber musician. Hummel’s Potpourri, an acoustical bouquet, written in 1820 borrows popular melodies of the time from Mozart and Rossini, woven together by Hummel into a brilliant fantasy showcase for viola. Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante will pair Ridout’s viola with the violin of our director/leader, Tomo Keller, in one of Mozart’s most iconic works.
Programme to include:
Hummel Potpourri op.94 for Viola and Orchestra
Mozart Sinfonia concertante in Eb major, K. 364 (320d)
