OVERVIEW

Our musicians return to the Cambridge Music Festival to present two of the greatest works by Ludwig van Beethoven. Superstar violinist Joshua Bell will perform the composer’s lyrical Violin Concerto and direct the Academy in his Symphony No. 5, instantly recognisable from its four-note opening motif. Beginning the concert will be the wonderfully playful and evocative Midsummer Night’s Dream overture, written by a 17-year old Mendelssohn.
