26 February
Wednesday
Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco

This concert is the culmination of a music residency with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, our music Director Joshua Bell and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, performed side-by-side with students from SFCM, and Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, featuring SFCM student Fiona Cunninghame-Murray alongside Bell.

As part of this residency, ASMF musicians will collaborate with students on the Community Connect course, delivering chamber performances in local homelessness organisations on the morning of Tuesday 25 February. On Wednesday 26 February, members of ASMF’s social purpose steering group will join the Community Connect class to coach students in community engagement, offering insights from ASMF’s practice and reflections on SFCM student’s work.

ASMF’s work in the USA and the residency at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music is kindly supported by Maria Cardamone and Paul Matthews.

The position of the Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields is generously supported by the Berry Charitable Foundation.
