OVERVIEW
The Academy Chamber Ensemble returns to Kings Place to close the Academy’s 2015/16 London season, with the opportunity to hear a rarely performed chamber music gem, Ernst von Dohnányi’s beautiful Sextet in C. Brahmsian in style, the Sextet is infused with a sense of fun and humour characteristic of the underappreciated Hungarian composer. Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes and Brahms’ own emotionally charged Horn Trio, written in memory of his mother, round off the programme.
