Social Purpose

We harness music’s ability to empower people, extending the creative freedom of our players beyond the concert hall for meaningful impact in London and around the world.

ASMF’s programmes connect musicians with communities in the UK and internationally. Our homelessness programme sees musicians create and perform new music alongside users of day centres and frontline homelessness organisations, focusing on empowerment and building trust. Supporting the next generation of brilliant musicians at all stages of development is also core to our mission. By sharing our ensemble’s unique principles, we help participants and musicians flourish.
Our Work with people experiencing homelessness
For more than twenty-five years the Academy has been working to empower people who are or who have been homeless through music-making.
Talent Development
Securing the future of great solo, chamber and orchestral playing is crucial, which is why we work with the next generation of orchestral musicians through our young professional partnerships.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOOLS
We provide opportunities for schools to hear the orchestra and resources for educational purposes.
Connect with Us
We embed projects with young musicians and people experiencing homelessness throughout our work, including our international tours. See our Beyond The Stage brochure to find out about ways we could work together.
