OVERVIEW
Music Director Joshua Bell leads the Academy on a first national tour of Australia in close to three decades, performing twice each in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with violin concertos by Tchaikovsky, Bruch and Mozart, and symphonies by Mendelssohn, Mozart and Beethoven. Bell also leads the Academy Chamber Ensemble in an exclusive hour-long morning concert in Melbourne on 20 April, featuring Mendelssohn’s String Octet and Franz Hasenöhrl’s arrangement of Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel.
