Once you have looked after your family and friends, leaving a gift to charity can have a lasting impact.
In 1958, Neville Marriner founded the orchestra with a group of friends who had a shared vision of musical democracy: where everyone’s voice was heard, and there was little place for rank or hierarchy. Now guided by our Musical Director Joshua Bell, ASMF’s player-led mindset runs through every strand of work we do and is something we know will exist for generations to come.
Our imagination is unlimited, but our funding is not. Leaving a gift in your will to ASMF helps continue the legacy of Neville Marriner and the players who shaped the orchestra alongside him.

How to leave a legacy to asmf
To leave a gift in your will to ASMF, you simply need to provide your solicitor with the details below and the type of gift you wish to make. If you have already made a will, you can add a codicil to make an addition or change.
Any gift you leave ASMF will be deducted from your estate before any tax liability is calculated. For those who leave at least 10% of their net estate to charity, the inheritance tax rate is discounted from 40% to 36%, allowing you to secure the future of your family, friends, and charitable interests at the same time. Any financial planning to offset tax liability should be discussed with your solicitor.
For UK purposes, the name of the charity to leave in your will is The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, registered charity number No. 289294.
If you are an American citizen, you can leave a gift to the Friends of Academy of St Martin in the Fields which is fully deductible for US estate tax purposes (EIN 94-3304061, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the state of California).
